HIF Global, the global leader in the e-fuels sector, has announced that it has chosen Electric Hydrogen to provide the cutting-edge electrolyzer systems for its Texas e-Fuels facility. Electrolyzers are crucial to HIF Global’s plans to expand operations at its Houston-based facility, which provides the American economy with integral jobs and e-fuel for the emerging prosperity that is evident in the United States. Hydrogen has come a long way in a relatively short time frame, and the electrolyzers in question will be built in the US of A.

The HIF project in Texas will see the largest deployment of US-made electrolyzers

That is according to HIF Global’s Executive Director. The project in Texas has been bolstered by the news that HIF Global chose the American company, Electric Hydrogen, to provide the crucial electrolyzers, which are designed and made in the United States.

Electrolyzers are a crucial component in separating the gases in water, namely oxygen and hydrogen, through a process known as electrolysis. And Electric Hydrogen is universally recognized as a global leader in the design and manufacturing of electrolyzers.

Electric Hydrogen has stated that it manufactures “the world’s most powerful electrolyzers.” Which are crucial to critical industries that can’t decarbonize any other way. The company’s CEO stated that they are proud to partner with HIF Global and that this is a defining moment for the American energy sector.

“Electric Hydrogen is proud to partner with HIF to deploy our advanced electrolyzer systems at unprecedented scale. This is a defining moment for American leadership in breakthrough energy technology, a sector currently dominated by Chinese exports. It proves that U.S.-built solutions can meet the toughest performance and cost targets – at the scale needed to reindustrialize our country and lead global trade in new energies.” – Raffi Garabedian, CEO of Electric Hydrogen

Hydrogen’s importance to the American energy sector is becoming all too clear

The project is seen as a massive boost to the hydrogen sector, which saw less production in the first half of this year than expected, as stated by the International Energy Agency in its annual report.

Regardless of that, the project will deliver crucial hydrogen to a vast number of sectors across the United States. Add to that the fact that the electrolyzers in question are built in the United States, and things are looking good for the hydrogen sector in America at the moment.

The CEO of HIF US stated their approval of the planned implementation of Electric Hydrogen’s electrolyzers at its Texas facility. The United States government has even issued a substantial tax credit for the hydrogen industry.

“HIF is building the future of American energy—one that relies on U.S. technology, U.S. manufacturing, and U.S. workers. Electric Hydrogen brings American innovation and industrial-scale performance to our HIF Matagorda e-Fuels facility. Together, we’re showing that advanced fuels produced here in Texas are the most competitive worldwide, propelling the U.S. to the leadership position in low emission energy production.” – Renato Pereira, CEO of HIF USA

With the current state of the American energy sector, hydrogen provides some hope for the energy independence goals in the US

The current administration has implemented several executive orders and specific policies aimed at bringing America closer to the energy independence goal that they have set for themselves. Several coal plants have been ordered to reopen or continue operations well beyond their planned retirement dates. The Trump administration has also taken significant steps to roll back the progress made in the wind power sector as well. Despite that, the American energy industry can reap the benefits of the new facility in Texas that produces that sweet, sweet hydrogen.
