SSE Renewables greenlights 52 MW to boost onshore wind power in Spain and Italy

Nordex and SSE to develop 42 MW of new wind capacity in Spain’s Aragón region

The European energy market has seen a significant shift in recent months as more nations turn to the renewable energy sector. Europe has been slowly adopting new and astonishing projects that boost the energy production from the renewable energy sector. One nation that has expressed its positive view of the sector is Germany. Nordex has now revealed it has secured a 123 MW turbine order from DenkerWulf in Germany, marking a turning point in the European energy market as wind power becomes more prominent.

Germany’s wind power energy generation capacity is set to increase following the turbine orders by DenkerWulf

Germany has long been seen as a progressive nation that is not afraid to change and adapt to global sentiments. Following the recent news that the Nordex Group, a market leader in wind turbine manufacturing, has secured three orders from DenkerWulf for its flagship wind turbines, the German wind sector is set to dominate the market in the coming years.

The order consists of 25 wind turbines with a combined capacity of 122.7 MW. To ensure the success of the project, Nordex will maintain all turbines in the new order from DenkerWulf under a premium service contract for 20 years.

The three wind farms that will feature the new turbines are located in the Schleswig-Holstein region of Germany. The Galmsbüll Bahrenhof wind farm, the Galmsbüll Park wind farm, as well as the Padenstedt wind farm will feature the state-of-the-art wind turbines manufactured by the Nordex Group.

“Our renewed strong commitment underscores the close and flexible partnership with Nordex. We are especially pleased that we have successfully completed the repowering in Galmsbüll—a location with very strong wind conditions—together with the community wind farm” – Thomas Behrendt, Head of Wind Turbine Procurement and Site Manager Rostock at Denker & Wulf AG

Europe’s love affair with the renewable energy sector comes at just the right time for the global energy market

Following the latest round of sanctions on Russia due to its ongoing war in Ukraine, the global energy market has been in a panic as operators compete for the limited energy supplies from non-Russian companies.

The advancement of the German wind power sector comes as the nation is fostering investment in the renewable energy sector to meet its clean energy targets agreed upon at the Paris summit, and aligns perfectly with the EU’s requirements for clean energy production.

“Thanks to the high speed of project implementation, we recently surpassed the milestone of 500 MW of commissioning in Germany with Nordex. Despite challenging conditions, we look forward to continuing this successful partnership. Together, we will continue to realize innovative projects and advance the energy transition” – Thomas Behrendt, Head of Wind Turbine Procurement and Site Manager Rostock at Denker & Wulf AG

As the world enters a new era of wind power production, driven by new projects like the Taiwanese Rui Li 1 wind farm and the new plan for the German wind power sector, the global embrace of the renewable energy sector is set to reach new heights in the coming years.

The international adoption of the wind power sector has not reached the US

Germany and Europe’s adoption of the wind power sector is a far cry from the stance undertaken by the current administration in the United States. Industry analysts and insiders have noted that the wind power sector in the US has effectively been paralyzed due to the permit rollback under Donald Trump. The substantial wind turbine orders that Nordex has secured from DenkerWulf point to the shift in the market as Europe prepares for a future without Russian energy resources. Germany, at least, is preparing for wind power to dominate the renewable energy market.
