(LAFAYETTE, LA) — Today, Dupré Logistics announces its recognition as one of the three American Trucking Associations (ATA) President’s Trophy Award Winners for 2014. The ATA President’s Trophy, the highest safety award given to motor carriers in the United States, is presented to only three motor carriers each year, one in each of three categories: Under 25 Million Miles, 25-100 Million Miles, and Over 100 Million Miles.

This is the second time Dupré won the President’s Trophy Award for the 25-100 Million Mile category. They received this recognition back in 2010. Dupré received the award based on its safety record, programs and community outreach activities. The award is judged by top motor carrier safety professionals as well as commercial vehicle enforcement personnel.

“To be recognized as one of the top three in the nation is an incredible honor,” said Dupré’s Chief Executive Officer, Reggie Dupré. “Our team is dedicated to safety, our programs and being valuable members of the communities in which we work. This award is proof that safety is a part of everything we do here at Dupré,” added Tom Voelkel, Dupré President and Chief Operating Officer.

The ATA President’s Trophy was formally presented at the ATA 2014 Safety & Human Resources National Conference and Exhibition in Orlando, FL.

“At Dupré, we take safety very seriously,” said Al LaCombe, Dupré Director of Safety. “From our safety team to the individual drivers it is a group effort for continuous improvement. This award tells us we are doing something right but we will not stop here,” continued LaCombe

The American Trucking Association is the largest national trade association for the trucking industry. Since 1933, through a strong federation of state associations, affiliated conferences and individual members, ATA is committed to developing and advocating innovative, research-based policies that promote highway safety, security, environmental sustainability and profitability.
