Endeavor Management recently released an overview of its decommissioning JIP results which was supported by 12 companies including operating majors Shell and ExxonMobil. I thought you might find this information relevant as it covers key P&A and intervention initiatives including:
- A cost-benefit analysis of vessel options for intervention including LWI vessels with or without riser, MODUs with full riser system & subsea BOP and a hybrid multi-vessel option
- An economic study of the effective cost and performance application of resins including their sealing mechanism and placement capacity
- An overview of cement bond logging through multiple casing strings capabilities as well as subsurface cutting and milling options, NORM treatment and open water CT developments
You can access the overview in PDF and audio format at http://tinyurl.com/oilman-decom-report
If you have any comments or feedback on how these results compare to your current GOM activity, please contact Sam Scarpa on sscarpa@offsnet.com
It’s not too late to join the JIP – for more information on how to access the complete report, please contact Bruce Crager at bcrager@endeavormgmt.com
Oil and gas operations are commonly found in remote locations far from company headquarters. Now, it's possible to monitor pump operations, collate and analyze seismic data, and track employees around the world from almost anywhere. Whether employees are in the office or in the field, the internet and related applications enable a greater multidirectional flow of information – and control – than ever before.
