Wood Mackenzie’s 19th annual Solar & Energy Storage Summit returns to Denver from April 29-30 2026, bringing together over 450 senior leaders from US solar and storage developers, utilities, IPPs, C&I offtakers, and state and federal government.

The conference will feature keynote sessions focused on the biggest challenges and opportunities facing the solar and storage industries in the US before splitting into separate streams for more in-depth discussions. In 2026 we are launching a new third breakout stream focusing on grid infrastructure, looking at the opportunities for getting more out of distributed energy resources, digital technology for balancing the grid such as VPPs, and the need for further investment in grid infrastructure.

Agenda topics include:

  • The evolving energy mix: Evaluating intermittent renewables alongside firm generation such as gas, nuclear, geothermal and coal
  • Life after tax credits: Do renewables retain a competitive advantage despite less Federal support?
  • How can utilities and developers make the most of the load growth boom?
  • A looming affordability and reliability crisis? The impact of the energy transition and data center boom on customers
  • Navigating ongoing supply-chain challenges from tariffs to foreign entities of concern
  • Will permitting and interconnection delays put the brakes on renewables development?
  • How is the development landscape changing? M&A activity and new investment strategies
  • Energy storage business models – how to stack value on standalone, hybrid, and long duration storage assets
  • Getting creative to meet energy demand: From behind the meter solutions to VPPs
  • Winning hearts and minds on BESS safety
