Evers & Sons, a US-based energy company focused on the midstream sector in the North American region, has recently provided a progress briefing on Momentum Midstream’s NG3 project. The rapid expansion of the US energy sector has seen the majority of US-based companies expanding operations and projects to not be left behind and benefit from the new era of worldwide domination by the United States.
Evers & Sons: a unicorn among global energy corporations
The modern-day energy industry is dominated by a litany of huge corporations with substantial resources that outspend what most nations are capable of. Evers & Sons is unique in the sense that the company is 100% family owned and has no intention of selling off stakes to the highest bidder, as most large energy companies do.
In a recent update, Evers & Sons provided a progress briefing on its ongoing expansion of the Gillis Treating Plant, which is being developed and operated by Momentum Midstream, another huge US midstream energy company.
The facility, which is located in Beauregard Parish, Louisiana, north of Lake Charles, was originally established to process roughly 1.7 Bcf/day of natural gas. The proposed Gillis Treating Plant features treating, dehydration, compression, and other associated utility systems that are designed to transport substantial volumes of natural gas from the point of origin in Haynesville Shale to the expanding Gulf Coast markets.
Evers & Sons is anticipating increased volumes of natural gas entering its systems this year
To accommodate and support the planned increase in gas volumes, the company has executed a notable series of upgrades at the plant, which will enhance overall throughput and drastically improve treating performance. Some of the notable upgrades are the following:
- Improved new compression capacity
- significant improvements to CO₂ treating processes
- new enhancements in H₂S treating processes
With these new upgrades in place, the Gillis Treating Plant is anticipating a new processing capacity of around 2.2 to 2.3 Bcf/day, once all the relevant upgrades have been completed and the upgraded facility is fully commissioned.
What do the new upgrades at the Gillis Treating Plant provide Evers & Sons?
By upgrading the treating processes at the Gillis Treating Plant, the company has noted that the CO₂ stream is properly conditioned ahead of the next step in the process, compression and sequestration. This supports reliable carbon removal from the process and helps maintain stable operations for the facility during higher-volume conditions.
The upgrades completed to date are as follows:
- Major upgrades and new equipment installation
- System tie-ins
- Structural integration
- Necessary progression of instrumentation and electrical activities to bring the expansion online
Evers & Sons have noted that expectations are for the upgrades to be completed this month, and for a full-scal;e commissioning of the new upgraded facility soon after that. The upgrades come as new market data reveals that global LNG suppliers may be facing a perilous year ahead.
As the world enters a new era of geopolitical domination by the United States, thanks to its significant expansion of oil and gas production, Evers & Sons is perfectly positioned to benefit from the rapidly expanding US gas and oil market, especially once the upgrades at the Gillis Treating Plant are completed.
The United States is aiming to continue its upward trajectory in 2026
As the upgraded Gillis Treating Plant becomes a reality this year, the current market has revealed that the oil and gas pipeline capacity in the United States is set to soar this year as new pipelines and upgraded facilities come online. Donald Trump and his administration are doing their utmost to ensure the United States dominates the global oil and gas sector. The question becomes, what effect will this expansion have on the international energy price?
