HOUSTON – Gastech, the leading global conference and exhibition of the international gas, LNG and energy industries, today announced its preliminary program for the 2019 conference taking place at NRG Center in Houston September 17-19. Gastech 2019 includes three days of panel discussions and presentations from the industry’s key global leaders, addressing current gas and LNG issues while also looking to 2020 and beyond.

“For the first time in nearly two decades, Gastech is returning to Houston, the epicenter of the global energy industry and at a time when the U.S. is cementing its position as a global leader in the export of natural gas,” said Director of the Gastech Governing Body Gavin Sutcliffe. “Gastech has been held around the globe for over 45 years and remains one of the strongest and most informative programs to date.”

Some of the industry’s leading influencers and CEOs speaking at the conference include: Ryan Lance, Chairman & CEO, ConocoPhillips; Saad Sherida al-Kaabi, CEO, Qatar Petroleum; Meg Gentle, CEO, Tellurian; Neil Chatterjee, Chairman, Federal Energy Regulatory Commission; the Honorable Sylvester Turner, Mayor of Houston; David Dickson, President & CEO, McDermott; Olivier Mussat, Chief Investment Officer, International Finance Corporation; Philippe Sauquet, President, Gas, Renewables & Power and EVP, Strategy & Innovation, Total; BC Tripathi, Chairman and Managing Director, GAIL India; and Mike Sabel, Co-Chairman, Co-CEO & Founder, Venture Global LNG.

“The program will provide insights from government officials and industry bodies and delve into the emerging challenges and opportunities in the current gas and LNG markets. It will also look to answer key questions around topics such as a new wave of financial investments driving market buoyancy, increased demand and growing the commoditization of natural gas,” said Sutcliffe.

Gastech features a multi-streamed conference with over 180 presentations and panels with 400 speakers, a Plenary Conference, Strategic and Technical Conferences, a VIP Global Leaders’ Summit and four Spotlight Programs: Asia LNG Market Development Forum, Gas for Transportation Forum, Power & Energy, Diversity & Inclusion in Energy and Young Gastech.

The Plenary conference features 16 ministerial and global business dialogue sessions, and the Strategic conference features 48 presentations. Notable strategic panel sessions include:

  • CEO Panel: New Strategies for Securing Growth, Embracing a Combined Portfolio of Hydrocarbons and Renewables and Securing Position in the Low Carbon Future
  • Global Leaders’ Panel: How Can Buyers and Sellers Find a Balance to Cooperate and Develop Strategies for Long Term Market Growth?
  • EPC CEO Panel: How Can New Collaboration Models Support Greater Agility and Lower Costs Across the Industry?

This year’s technical conference, which includes 90 presentations, features expanded content on shale resource development; renewable gases; a greater focus on emissions management and power generation; and automation, digitalization and cybersecurity, in addition to Gastech’s more traditional coverage of gas processing and operations.
