GE Vernova is set to supply the necessary turbines for a Romanian wind project
In the global energy marketplace, the saying “if it ain’t broke, then don’t fix it” generally rings true. GE Vernova has been selected to construct, supply, install, and maintain the wind turbines for the Gurbanesti wind project. It will be the second deal for GE Vernova in Romania in as many months, as the company has been developing another wind energy project in the nation, the Ialomita wind farm.
The astonishing advancements in wind energy technology have become a sight for sore eyes, leading to a wave of new possibilities in the future to capture more wind energy through a much more efficient system.
The Ialomita wind farm and the Gurbanesti project will both require Vernova to supply 42 wind turbines, each with a 6.1 MW capacity. Together, the projects will add approximately 500 MW to Romania’s grid, building on the nation’s ambitions to increase clean energy production by 2030. With the significant backing of Greenvolt, expectations are that the orders will be delivered without any issues or interruptions.
