At its North American Technical Symposium in Denver on October 27, 2026, ONYX Insight announced that ONYX Cortex — its AI-powered reliability and performance solution for the wind industry — has completed the AWS Foundational Technical Review and is now listed in AWS Marketplace.

ONYX Cortex receives AWS certification and marketplace listing

The announcement came out of Denver on October 27, 2026: ONYX Cortex cleared the AWS Foundational Technical Review. It’s now live in AWS Marketplace, putting it within reach of wind operators worldwide who need scalable, secure access to AI-driven fleet intelligence.

ONYX Insight holds AWS Technology Partner status within the AWS Partner Network. That relationship shapes how the company builds and delivers its software — on AWS infrastructure, with the reliability and reach that global operators depend on.

Without those foundations, agentic AI systems can produce outputs that look plausible but don’t hold up under operational scrutiny.

CEO Alexis Grenon was direct about what the milestone means in practice. “Wind operators are increasingly relying on data and AI to make decisions about their fleets, and they need full confidence in the technology behind that intelligence,” he said. The FTR completion and Marketplace listing, he added, strengthen ONYX Insight’s ability to deliver critical innovation “built on technology they can trust.”

What the AWS Foundational Technical Review evaluates

The FTR isn’t a rubber stamp. It examines how a software solution is actually built and operated — specifically against AWS best practices for security, reliability, and operational excellence — and passing it means ONYX Cortex hit defined standards that matter in demanding industrial settings.

Getting there took deliberate investment. The company focused on data quality, security, and the engineering depth that gives AI outputs their meaning. These aren’t peripheral concerns. They determine whether operators can actually act on what the software tells them.

That matters more as the industry shifts. Wind operators are leaning harder on analytics and AI to guide maintenance and operational decisions, and the FTR adds an independent layer of assurance that the technology behind those decisions was built to a recognized standard — not just marketed as trustworthy.

How ONYX Cortex is designed to affect wind turbine operations

ONYX Cortex sits at the intersection of physics-informed AI and real-world wind industry data. Physics models provide structural grounding; operational data keeps the AI connected to what’s actually happening in the field. That combination is intentional.

The platform brings condition monitoring, performance analytics, and maintenance planning into one connected workflow. Traditionally, these functions have lived in separate tools or teams, which means operators had to manually stitch together insights from different sources before making a call. Integrating them removes that friction.

Earlier detection of emerging issues is the practical payoff. Operators can spot problems before they escalate and assess the commercial impact of what they’re seeing — because maintenance decisions aren’t just technical. They affect revenue and levelised cost of energy. ONYX Cortex is built to make that connection explicit, so teams can prioritize by what actually moves the numbers.

Context: Product launch and the North American technical symposium

ONYX Cortex didn’t arrive quietly. The platform debuted at WindEnergy Hamburg 2026, establishing itself in the global market before the AWS milestone was announced. Denver added a layer of third-party validation through the FTR process.

The timing wasn’t incidental. AWS is sponsoring ONYX Insight’s North American Technical Symposium on October 27–28 — the same event where the milestone was revealed — and the partnership between the two companies runs through the whole program.

AWS will co-present with Liam Sharkey, ONYX Insight’s VP of AI & Innovation, in a session titled “Building Agentic AI from the Ground Up: Data, Security & Context.” The session goes beyond product announcements, tackling a broader question the industry is wrestling with: what actually determines whether agentic AI delivers value in complex industrial environments? The answer comes down to strong data, robust security, and meaningful context. Without those foundations, agentic AI systems can produce outputs that look plausible but don’t hold up under operational scrutiny.

What this means for wind operators

The core facts are straightforward. ONYX Cortex completed the AWS Foundational Technical Review, confirming it meets AWS standards for security, reliability, and operational excellence, and it’s now listed in AWS Marketplace — broadening access for wind operators globally.

ONYX Insight is an AWS Technology Partner. The platform integrates condition monitoring, performance analytics, and maintenance planning into a single workflow built on physics-informed AI and real wind industry data, letting operators identify issues earlier and connect those issues to their commercial consequences.

The announcement followed the platform’s launch at WindEnergy Hamburg 2026 and coincided with ONYX Insight‘s North American Technical Symposium in Denver, where AWS served as both sponsor and co-presenter. Together, the FTR milestone and Marketplace listing represent the company’s latest step in making AI-driven decision-making more accessible — and more verifiably trustworthy — for the global wind industry.
