Otovo to buy an Oahu solar services company

The solar industry consists of great unpredictability and an element of surprise that could emerge from any direction. This has been the case ever since developers decided to heavily integrate technology and scientific expertise into the projects that they executed. The United States is recognized as a pioneer in the energy sector because it has access to a wide range of resources and wealth that can be used to execute sophisticated projects. Recently, Otovo decided to make Hawaii its next U.S. foothold, with plans to buy an Oahu solar services company and enter the island market.

A general overview of Otovo as a leading solar energy company

Endurance™ is Otovo’s AI platform that monitors installed equipment, optimizes service from problem detection to resolution, and coordinates repairs around the clock. The clean energy transition revealed just how much technology is changing the energy industry by allowing developers to pursue their ambitious targets.

In a nutshell, technology has dramatically reduced costs and increased efficiency, reliability, and accessibility of the solar energy industry. For instance, consider the tandem solar cells that consist of layering materials like perovskites on top of traditional silicon, enabling them to capture a wider light spectrum, pushing theoretical efficiency limits past 30%.

Otovo seeks to make Hawaii its next U.S. foothold, with plans to buy an Oahu solar services company

A recent press release from Otovo unveiled that the company has entered into two non-binding letters of intent (LOIs) to purchase PV Hawaii, LLC, a solar operations and maintenance provider that is based in Oahu, and Mr. Elektro AS, a Norwegian solar and electrical contractor, for a combined purchase of roughly USD 4.6 million.

If the purchases are completed, this will extend Otovo’s behind-the-meter service platform into Hawaii for the first time and add licensed, in-house installation and service capacity in Norway with immediate reach into Sweden. Otovo will bring its Endurance™ AI platform to PV Hawaii and Mr. Elektro’s local field crews and customer relationships. This will then result in faster service and real-time visibility.

Otovo’s focus on AI follows other innovative solar energy generation strategies that developers have discovered. For instance, the smart hybrid inverter acts as the brain of local setups, using AI and edge computing to predict energy needs, manage loads, and facilitate seamless grid or microgrid integration.

Breaking down the highlights of Otovo’s success within the solar energy sector

PV Hawaii and Mr. Elektro are expected to add combined revenue and EBIT of USD 7 million and USD 1.7 million in 2027, respectively. The company is excited for PV Hawaii because it brings a licensed OSHA-trained field crew and a referral-built customer base across Oahu, where Otovo has not previously operated.

Elektro, on the other hand, brings a 12-year-old owner-led electrical business focused on solar and EV chargers with full contractor authorizations in Norway and Sweden. This means Otovo will gain access to key markets in Europe and subsequently improve its overall reputation. Interestingly, Otovo is maintaining momentum considering that Mr. Elektro and PV Hawaii are the company’s 9th and 10th announced transactions since December 2025.

Looking ahead: Otovo leads from the front in establishing AI within solar development

The company is excited for what is to come in the future, considering the advantageous position that it currently occupies. William (John) Berger, Chief Executive Officer of Otovo, stated the following:

“PV Hawaii and Mr. Elektro bring licensed, experienced local teams that strengthen how we serve customers, and they extend our platform into Hawaii for the first time while deepening our reach across Norway and Sweden.”

Otovo is an AI-Native behind-the-meter energy services company that is serving homes and businesses across 15 European markets, Israel, and the United States. The company combines equipment monitoring, rapid repairs, reliable power supply, and grid participation in one service. Industry experts are continuously paying close attention to the company in its attempts to transform the solar sector.
