There is an enormous amount of money to be made for energy companies at the moment, considering the ongoing clean energy transition. One of the key elements for companies to become successful in the energy sector is ensuring that they capitalize on certain moments and generate as much revenue as possible while they still can, because of how quickly the energy sector evolves. There have been a lot of external companies that are reaching groundbreaking deals with energy companies with the aim of ensuring that they have a consistent energy supply for many years. On that note, Zelestra locked in $350 million for a 203 MW Indiana solar project, with Meta standing behind the power demand.

How influential has Zelestra been to the solar energy sector transformation?

There are many companies that are actively competing to be the sole pioneer in the energy sector, but this will be difficult to achieve given the abundance of companies that exist. However, there is a group of entities that have solidified themselves as leaders in the energy sector, and among those is Zelestra.

Zelestra is a global, multi-technology renewable energy company that was formerly known as Solarpack before rebranding in June 2024 to focus on customer-centric decarbonization solutions. The company was founded in 2005 and is headquartered in Madrid, Spain. It is backed by EQT Infrastructure V, which is part of EQT, one of the world’s largest private equity funds.

Zelestra operates as a vertically integrated independent power producer (IPP) providing tailored decarbonization options that combine solar PV and Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS). In the modern era, companies that offer a wider range of services are more likely to be appointed in captivating projects.

Zelestra locks in $350 million for a 203 MW Indiana solar project, with Meta

A recent press release from Zelestra revealed that the company has closed $350 million in green financing credit facilities for the 203 MW Reclamation Solar project in Gibson County, Indiana. The finalization of the agreement takes Zelestra past $1 billion ($1.14bn) in project financing raised in the US in 2026, which is putting more than 800 MW of new solar into construction for its customers across the country. The company is enjoying a record-breaking year but is still not showing any signs of slowing down as it seeks to finish off the year on an incredibly high note.

The credit facilities were provided by Canadian Imperial Bank of Commerce (CIBC), BBVA and Societe Generale. Reclamation is underpinned by a long-term Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) with Meta and is due to come online by the end of 2027. Zelestra is active in a variety of markets, including Spain, Italy, Germany, and the United States, which means it has a high chance of being involved in high-profile projects internationally and simultaneously.

An overview of Meta’s continued involvement in the energy sector

Meta has been involved in a number of projects in 2026, which is a testament to the company’s willingness to eliminate carbon emissions and possess reliable clean electricity for its data centers for many years to come. Meta is an American multinational technology conglomerate that is headquartered in Menlo Park, California.

Looking ahead: What does Zelestra’s collaboration with Meta signify?

Zelestra has a tremendous opportunity to create a blueprint that any other companies can latch on to as they pursue projects. Sybil Milo Cioffi, who is Zelestra’s US CFO, stated the following after the project’s announcement:

“Passing $1 billion in US project financing this year is a milestone we are pleased to share with our lenders and our customers. Reclamation is a major project that will deliver many benefits to our customer, and to the wider community. We are pleased that CIBC, BBVA and Societe Generale are backing our ambition.”

The project in which Meta is involved with Zelestra is already under construction and is expected to support an estimated 200 jobs at peak construction.
