The renewable energy wave has landed in every corner of the international energy market in recent years. Europe, in particular, has become a welcome destination for the renewable energy market as a litany of nations aim to meet their self-imposed mandates for clean energy production and emission reduction. Germany has become a cornerstone of the renewable energy sector, and now, the country’s 21 MW Heinsberg-Boverath wind project in North Rhine–Westphalia has selected Nordex to supply the necessary wind turbines.

The recent G20 Summit saw reaffirmations on clean energy production

The G20 Summit, which was being hosted by an African nation for the first time, saw a litany of nations reaffirming their commitments to clean energy and decarbonizing the energy market to reduce carbon emissions. At the summit, Germany reaffirmed the need to advance the global renewable energy sector and noted the concrete commitment made by several nations in moving the world away from fossil fuel-based energy generation.

This has positioned Germany as a global leader in the substantial need to diversify the market in the years to come, as it, along with a litany of nations, has 2030 clean energy targets that need to be met. In that vein, Germany has been progressing with the planned 21 MW Heinsberg-Boverath wind project in North Rhine–Westphalia. Germany’s proclivity for the renewable energy sector has become a major driver for the sector moving into the new year.

Germany’s love for the weird and wonderful wind energy sector has been a sight to behold

The progressive nature of the German people means that the country is always looking for the next step to take in advancing the renewable energy sector to reach new levels of commissioning and development. Now, the nation has selected the Nordex Group as the preferred supplier of the wind turbines for the 21 MW Heinsberg-Boverath wind project.

BMR Energy Solutions GmbH selects the Nordex Group to supply wind turbines

The project developer, BMR Energy Solutions GmbH, has tapped the Nordex Group to construct, install, and maintain the wind turbines for the new wind project in North Rhine-Westphalia. Nordex has become the backbone of the international wind energy sector and boasts operations spanning nearly every nation in the world.

The group will supply and install three N163/6.X turbines for the Heinsberg-Boverath wind farm, and has been selected by the project operator, no doubt due to the firm’s vast expertise in wind turbine manufacturing and maintenance, as the agreement also includes servicing of the turbines for 20 years by Nordex. This latest contract follows several other deals between Nordex and BMR.

Nordex is building one of the most impressive wind turbine portfolios anywhere on Earth

The company has been operating since the mid-80s, when the world first began to embrace the energy generation potential of the wind power sector, and since then has gone on to develop an unparalleled portfolio of wind projects all over the world. Such as the new 60 MW wind project in Ireland being developed by SSE Renewables and FuturEnergy.

Nordex’s vast expertise has catapulted the company to the top of the proverbial wind power mountain

The Nordex Group’s selection by the German energy operator comes as the company is developing several new wind projects all over the European continent, such as the new 34 MW repowering of a Spanish wind facility by Grupo Enhol. One struggles to imagine a future where Nordex will be overtaken as the go-to supplier for wind turbines and their associated infrastructure. Wind power generation is one of the key drivers in the global ambition to combat climate change while still delivering essential energy to the global populace, and balance will be key.
