Houston will serve as a major gathering place for the disaster preparedness and resilience community this October when Natural Disasters Expo Texas returns to the city for two days focused on preparing for, responding to and recovering from natural disasters and other emergencies.

The event will take place October 14–15, 2026, at the George R. Brown Convention Center, bringing together more than 4,000 professionals and 350 exhibitors from across the disaster management, emergency response, infrastructure, engineering, technology and recovery sectors.

The expo comes at a time when disaster preparedness and resilience have become increasingly important priorities for communities, businesses and government organizations. From severe weather and flooding to hurricanes, infrastructure disruptions and other emergencies, organizations are placing greater emphasis on planning for potential disruptions before they occur.

Why Houston

Houston provides a particularly relevant setting for conversations surrounding disaster preparedness and resilience.

As a major Gulf Coast city and one of the nation’s largest metropolitan areas, Houston has extensive experience dealing with hurricanes, flooding, severe weather and infrastructure challenges. The region is also home to critical energy, transportation, industrial and commercial infrastructure, making resilience an important consideration for both public and private organizations.

By bringing thousands of professionals together in Houston, the expo will create an opportunity for organizations from across Texas and beyond to examine emerging approaches to preparedness and disaster response while developing relationships across industries.

Connecting Government, Industry and Technology

One of the central goals of Natural Disasters Expo Texas is to connect organizations that play different but interconnected roles in disaster preparedness and recovery.

Government agencies and emergency services work alongside infrastructure operators, engineers, technology providers, businesses and recovery specialists during major emergencies. Creating opportunities for these groups to share information and discover new solutions can help strengthen preparedness before a disaster occurs.

With more than 350 exhibitors, the event will showcase technologies, products and services designed to support organizations throughout the disaster preparedness, response and recovery process.

The expo will also provide attendees with access to industry education and networking opportunities, allowing professionals to learn about emerging approaches while connecting with peers and potential partners.
