As the year is now coming to an end, many companies are assessing how much progress they have made toward meeting the initial targets that they set for themselves at the beginning of 2026. As a result, some companies are becoming more aggressive in the projects that they pursue as they aim to end the year on a high note. The United States has enjoyed many groundbreaking projects and is in a good position to meet its clean energy targets with the help of many local and foreign companies. Recently, SEG Solar started commercial HJT module production at its second U.S. factory, adding another domestic line for next-generation solar manufacturing.

Assessing the contributions made by SEG Solar in the United States solar landscape

SEG Solar, founded in 2021, is a leading vertically integrated PV manufacturer that is headquartered in Houston, Texas, and is committed to delivering reliable, cost-effective solar modules to the utility, commercial, and residential markets. By the end of 2025, SEG had shipped over 7.5 GW of solar modules worldwide and reached a module production capacity of 6.5 GW.

Texas is now seen as a national leader in clean energy, having surpassed California in utility-scale solar generation. Companies like SEG Solar have played an integral role in making this a reality with how much it has brought to the state’s solar capacity. According to reports, Texas generated over 58,000 GWh from utility-scale solar, overtaking California’s output.

Industry experts have speculated for a long time. Still, it has become even clearer that SEG Solar wants to be among the companies spearheading the next generation of solar energy production strategies. A recent press release from SEG Solar announced that the company had officially inaugurated its second U.S. PV module manufacturing facility (Tomball #1) in Greater Houston, Texas, expanding its total U.S. module manufacturing capacity to 6 GW annually.

The opening represents another massive milestone in SEG’s journey toward becoming the largest crystalline solar module manufacturer in the United States and further emphasizes the company’s long-term dedication to improving domestic solar manufacturing. There are some people who have offered light criticism that the United States could use more local representation in its initiatives, and this should be much easier to fulfill with companies like SEG Solar actively strengthening their overall portfolio.

The inauguration brought together roughly 800 attendees, including SEG employees and representatives from local government, industry associations, business partners, customers, and leading media organizations. Events that bring industry officials together usually create a platform for them to discuss or come up with creative ways that they can execute future projects.

Reviewing SEG Solar’s plans to maintain momentum in solar development

SEG Solar is in a position where it is excited for what is to come in the future, with the company showing a full commitment to pushing the boundaries in solar energy development. Jun Zhuge, Founder & COO of SEG, stated the following:

“Seeing another SEG manufacturing facility stand on American soil is a proud moment for all of us. The rapid growth of artificial intelligence and data centers is driving unprecedented demand for reliable electricity and accelerating the need for new energy infrastructure.”

Companies generally consider the United States a suitable place to pursue projects, considering the amount of resources that make it possible for developers to execute captivating initiatives and establish first-of-a-kind facilities.
