The European solar energy market is thriving at the moment, and one of the main reasons behind this is SolarPower Europe, which has long facilitated large-scale projects. Despite the past success, the company is not complacent but rather seeks further progress. This was reiterated after news broke that SolarPower Europe published dual reports focused on strengthening solar quality and performance standards.

SolarPower Europe: The company at the heart of Europe’s solar success

SolarPower Europe is the leading member-led trade association for the European solar photovoltaic (PV) sector. It represents over 300 organizations across the entire value chain and aims to guarantee that solar energy is the main energy source utilized in Europe by 2030.

The company sees no limitations and has very massive ambitions which might materialize considering the amount of available resources in the current landscape.

Bearing in mind the firm’s overall mission, it is understandable why it has gone to such great lengths to ensure that every year includes a new groundbreaking development. SolarPower Europe unveiled two solar quality assurance reports that aimed at strengthening the solar projects’ standards.

This decision was made during the annual Solar Quality Summit Europe in Barcelona meaning there was extensive set of eyes on it. When the solar industry appears to have hit the ceiling, technological innovation permits developers to create an idea of what the future may look like.

Breaking barriers: SolarPower Europe plans to transform solar energy initiatives

There has been a notable trend in the 2026 projects whereby companies are increasingly breaking away from the traditional ways of managing and executing energy projects. This is impossible to achieve without meticulous planning and great attention to detail, as seen in the case of SolarPower Europe.

At the heart of the company’s objectives is the newly published Technical Due Diligence (TDD) Best Practice Guidelines for Hybrid Utility Solar PV & Battery Energy Storage Systems, which represents a landmark as it is the first of its kind in solar initiatives.

Some people may wonder what exactly is contained in this dual report released by SolarPower Europe. The report provides an all-encompassing methodology for assessing hybrid solar and storage projects. This is inclusive of their entire lifecycle from initial feasibility all the way to commissioning and operation.

What changes are the public dual reports expected to introduce in the future?

The job has been made much easier for technical advisors and engineers as they do not have to go through the numerous steps that they had to in the past.

The reports establish an appropriate framework that helps with completing in-depth health checks, for example, including legal, technical, environmental, and financial considerations. Additionally, they provide frameworks to examine things like feasibility, bankability, and performance.

While all of the spotlight is on SolarPower Europe at the moment, it is essential to highlight that different countries might benefit from this initiative in the future if they apply the established blueprint. As the energy industry is becoming more technological, this comes with new challenges.

Thus, it helps that the TDD Guidelines attend to arising issues such as cybersecurity risks, biodiversity protection, and innovative construction techniques. One of the included ones is ways to reduce workplace strain with robotic installation systems, which is something that previous experts have never thought of attending to.

Strengthening and improving solar quality and performance standards

SolarPower Europe has also helped provide an upgraded Engineering, Procurement & Construction (EPC) Best Practice Guidelines Version 3.0, which provides assured ways of completing large-scale hybrid solar PV and BESS projects.

2026 might be remembered as the year in which the solar energy industry was transformed forever, with SolarPowerEurope at the center of it. If we consider how the year is going so far, it would not be surprising if another entity surpassed this project.
