On that note, Soluna added a 28 MW Bitdeer deployment to its Texas data center, where wind power is becoming part of the computing stack.

Breaking barriers: Soluna adds a 28 MW Bitdeer deployment to its Texas data center

A press release from Soluna Computing captured the attention of the energy industry after revealing that one of its subsidiaries has entered into an agreement with Dory Creek, LLC, a wholly owned subsidiary of Bitdeer Technologies Group.

The terms of the agreement reveal that Bitdeer will be expected to deploy an estimated 28 MW of Bitcoin mining equipment, reflecting roughly 1.93 EH/s of hash rate, at Soluna’s Project Kati 1 in South Texas.

Interestingly, this is not the first time that Soluna is bringing a wind energy initiative to Texas, with the company now proving to play a key role in enhancing the state’s overall capacity. Texas is the leading state in U.S. wind energy production, generating over 30% of the nation’s total wind electricity.

This means the state has an abundance of resources for developers to rely on as they pursue wind energy initiatives. Additionally, the state has more favorable weather conditions that allow consistent energy generation throughout the year.

Assessing the significance of Texas as a wind energy hub in the U.S.

According to reports, Texas currently has a nameplate capacity of over 40,000 MW spread across almost 200 wind farms. However, this amount is almost certain to increase as Soluna executes energy projects within the state.

Hash rate, which is involved in the project, is measured in exahashes per second (EH/s) and represents the computing power dedicated to Bitcoin mining. The agreement provides for deployment starting in September 2026, ramping on batches.

Looking ahead: Soluna’s importance to the United States’ wind energy sector

Project Kati is an 83 MW wind-powered data center in Willacy County, Texas. The site delivered its first gross profit in the second quarter of 2026. John Belizaire, who is the CEO of Soluna, stated the following after the project’s announcement:

“Every megawatt we have energized taught us something about how to run this infrastructure well. Co-mining is a natural extension of that operating history. It puts our track record to work in a structure where we participate more directly in what the infrastructure produces, alongside a partner that builds some of the most capable machines in the industry.”

2026 has been a year of many collaborations between companies as they look to share the financial risk and responsibility involved in the execution of clean energy projects. Soluna’s primary objective at the moment is to make renewable energy a global superpower, using computing as a catalyst.
