Ah, yes, the new year is finally revealing the future of the energy market across the international stage. Amidst the calls to diversify energy outputs, the renewable energy sector has been growing at a steady rate over the past decade or so. Waaree Renewable Technologies has announced that it has secured an EPC contract to deliver a 28.6 MW solar power installation in India.

India is aiming to drastically reduce emissions from its energy sector

India has become one of the worst polluters in the world, mostly due to the huge population that demands increased energy production for everyday life. While the government recently opened its latest bidding tender for the upstream market, many have posed the question: What measures will the state take to increase the output capacity of the renewable energy market?

The answer to that inevitable question has become slightly clearer recently, when on the last day of 2025, Waaree Renewable Technologies, a subsidiary of Waaree Energies Limited, announced that it had received a Letter of Award (LOA) for the Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) operations at the latest solar project in India.

India has one of the hottest climates anywhere in the world

It would be a shame if the Indian government and energy companies did not take advantage of the substantial sunshine that the nation receives nearly all year round. Solar power projects have been developing at a remarkable pace in India, and now, Waaree has been selected to develop India’s latest solar venture.

Climate change has become the top priority for the vast majority of nations, and the energy industry can play a vital role in reducing emissions that will alleviate concerns over a climate catastrophe in the near future.

“Climate change is not just another issue. It is the issue that, unchecked, will swamp all other issues. The only hope lies in all the countries of the world coming together around a common global project to rewire the world with clean energy. This is a path to peace – peace among people, and peace between people and nature.” – Ross Gelbspan

Wareee is set to develop India’s latest turnkey solar project

The company announced on 31 December 2025, that it had received the contract for the Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) works at the new 28.60 MWac/39.80 MWp Ground Mount Solar Power Project. India is also developing the Bhadla Solar Park, which will stand as the nation’s largest solar project to date.

The capacity of the project will be executed on a turnkey basis, according to the company. The company has noted that the order came just in time for the project to be completed sometime in the 2026-27 financial year, and could strengthen India’s renewable energy market significantly.

“India’s Solar EPC sector is also rapidly evolving and our integrated capabilities place us at the forefront of this transtition. With a robust solar EPC unexpected order book of 3.48 GWp, we are strategically positioned to execute large-scale, integrated energy projects and lead India’s energy transition by serving value across the lifecycle from design and delivery and O&M.” – Manmohan Sharma, CFO of Waaree Renewable Technologies

India’s solar manufacturing sector is set to surge in 2026

The government recently implemented measures to boost the solar panel manufacturing sector to meet a new surge of demand for clean energy in India. As solar manufacturing increases, India is developing a new era of clean energy production, which has become a necessity to reduce the vast amount of emissions from its energy industry. The world has unwittingly accepted the fact that the generational reliance on fossil fuel-based energy production needs to come to an end in the not-too-distant future.
