Poland has become the latest nation in Europe to leverage the substantial expertise and know-how of Vestas, a market-leading wind turbine manufacturer, to develop plans for its newest wind energy project. Wind power has the potential to completely reshape the global energy industry through the vast amounts of clean energy that provide nations the opportunity to supply essential power to the populace while drastically reducing emissions.

New wind power projects are developing across the international market

The world has become acutely aware of the need to integrate more renewable energy projects to diversify energy output across the international market. While the vast majority of the world has embraced the wind power market with open arms, a few still languish in their adoption of the sector, such as the United States.

The US federal government has been actively rolling back permits for new wind projects and cancelling federal funding for other clean energy developments, instead focusing on increasing energy output from the traditional oil and gas sectors in the North American market.

Poland places new wind turbine order with the undisputed king of the wind energy sector

Europe overall has been a welcome addition to the wind energy market in recent years as a litany of nations aim to meet their clean energy and emissions targets by the end of the decade. Poland has revealed that it has placed a significant wind turbine order with Vestas, a market leader in turbine manufacturing and installation.

Vestas reported that it has received the order for the 32 MW Lubień onshore wind farm in Poland, marking the continued domination of Vestas in the international wind turbine manufacturing sector. Vestas has become the king of the proverbial mountain thanks to its efficient and durable turbines that now litter the globe.

Poland’s 32 MW Lubień onshore wind farm is advancing towards commissioning

The 32 MW Lubień onshore wind farm is the latest in a long line of wind energy projects in Europe, and with the vast majority of new projects turning to Vestas for their turbines, the market is awash with the flagship turbines that the company has made its fortune with.

Vestas has noted that it included the turbine order for the Polish wind farm in its Q4 intake, and plans to construct the turbines as soon as possible, most likely in the new year. Notably, the farm is expected to begin operations in 2027.

The latest turbine order is being carried out by several energy companies

Vestas has noted that the turbine order, which amounts to approximately 32 MW of clean energy, has been carried out by FW LUBIEŃ and the GreenVolt Power Group. The 8 Vestas turbines will combine to add significant energy capacity to the Polish grid once operational in 2027.  The order comes as Poland has been granted funding from the EU for its new Baltic Sea Wind farm.

“New orders, including a key project in Poland, highlight the dynamic growth of onshore wind energy in the EMEA (Europe, Middle East and Africa) region and Vestas’ commitment to providing technologically advanced solutions that support the energy transition.” – Vestas

New wind developments pave the path towards decarbonization

The order from Poland comes with a 20-year AOM 5000 Service Agreement from Vestas, ensuring the long-term operational efficiency of the turbines. While the US President has been actively ending the progress of wind energy generation in the United States, some states, such as New York, are moving forward with their wind energy projects. Poland will significantly increase its clean energy capacity from the new 32 MW Lubień onshore wind farm, paving the path to decarbonizing the nation’s energy market over the coming years.
