NDT Global commercially launched its QUADRA™ Ultra-High Resolution Inline Inspection system at IPCE 2026 in Calgary, marking a notable new entry in pipeline integrity technology. The system combines multiple inspection datasets — corrosion, seam-related anomalies, and other complex conditions — into a single pipeline run, rather than requiring separate passes for each threat type.

NDT Global unveils QUADRA™ at IPCE 2026

NDT Global made the commercial launch official at IPCE 2026 in Calgary, introducing QUADRA™ as an inline inspection solution built to give pipeline operators a more complete picture of their pipeline’s condition. The announcement positions QUADRA™ as a direct response to the growing complexity of integrity challenges operators face today.

Two company leaders spoke at the launch. President Paul Cooper framed the announcement around a broader shift in how NDT Global thinks about inspection. “The future is not about individual inspection technologies operating independently,” Cooper said. “It is about bringing data together and applying the knowledge we have built through decades of inspection experience and an extensive historical dataset to create better context for integrity decisions.”

More data only gets more valuable, the argument goes, when it’s interpreted through a deep understanding of what that data actually means in practice.

Director of MFL Product Management Miguel Maldonado added detail on the system’s design, highlighting its modular structure and how it lets operators tailor capabilities to specific challenges without adding operational burden. IPCE 2026 attendees can check out QUADRA™ directly at NDT Global’s showcase, where the company is presenting both the technology and its broader approach to integrated pipeline data.

How QUADRA™ combines inspection technologies

At its core, QUADRA™ merges ultra-high resolution axial magnetic flux leakage (MFL) with circumferential MFL (C-MFL) and additional complementary inspection data — all in a single pipeline run. That combination is what sets it apart from running separate tools for separate threat types.

The system builds on NDT Global’s established UHR Trinity platform, enhanced with UHR C-MFL technology. According to Maldonado, that foundation gives QUADRA™ a proven base while extending its detection range, allowing it to address a wider variety of pipeline threats without requiring multiple operational passes.

Modularity is a central design principle. Operators can configure the system to target specific integrity challenges rather than applying a one-size-fits-all approach — flexibility that makes QUADRA™ practical across different pipeline environments and conditions. Collecting all datasets in a single run also cuts the logistical complexity of multi-tool inspection programs. Fewer runs mean fewer operational disruptions, a practical win for operators managing busy pipeline schedules.

Intended effects on pipeline integrity decision-making

Collecting more data is only part of the value here. NDT Global is equally focused on what happens after the data is gathered. The company’s integrated data environment is designed to align, compare, and analyze information from multiple inspection technologies together, rather than reviewing each dataset in isolation.

That integration is meant to give operators stronger context around specific threats. QUADRA™ targets conditions including corrosion, narrow axial features, seam-related anomalies, and hard spots — threats that can interact in ways a single-technology inspection might not fully capture. Cooper put the goal plainly: “Our goal is to move customers faster from data to insight to action.”

That framing reflects a broader push in the industry toward inspection programs that don’t just identify anomalies but support faster, more confident integrity decisions. By reducing complexity at both the collection and analysis stages, QUADRA™ is designed to improve the speed and quality of what operators decide about their pipelines.

Background: NDT Global’s integrated inspection strategy

QUADRA™ didn’t come out of nowhere. It reflects a deliberate strategic direction NDT Global has been building toward — one centered on connecting inspection data with advanced analysis, engineering, and integrity management rather than treating each inspection technology as a standalone product.

The company draws on decades of inspection experience and an extensive historical dataset to inform its analytical approach. That accumulated knowledge is central to how NDT Global frames its data integration capabilities. More data only gets more valuable, the argument goes, when it’s interpreted through a deep understanding of what that data actually means in practice.

QUADRA™ continues the shift away from individual inspection tools toward multi-data integration, shaped by a straightforward industry reality: pipeline operators are under increasing pressure to manage complex, interacting integrity threats more efficiently, often with tighter timelines and higher regulatory expectations. Operators need inspection programs that do more per run and deliver clearer answers faster. NDT Global is positioning QUADRA™ as a direct answer to that demand.

Providing broader context

QUADRA™ is now commercially available, with its formal debut at IPCE 2026 in Calgary. The system combines ultra-high resolution axial MFL, circumferential MFL, and complementary inspection data in a single pipeline run, built on NDT Global’s proven UHR Trinity platform.

Its modular design lets operators configure inspections around specific integrity challenges. The integrated data environment then aligns and analyzes the collected datasets together, providing broader context for threats like corrosion, seam anomalies, and hard spots — conditions that often interact in ways single-technology inspections miss.

NDT Global‘s stated aim is to reduce inspection complexity while improving the speed and quality of integrity decisions. QUADRA™ is the company’s clearest expression yet of a strategy built around connecting inspection data — not just collecting it.
