For a long time, the United States has been among the leading solar energy-producing countries in the world without necessarily having an overwhelming amount of national representation. Over time, the nation is now starting to find somewhat of a balance between using foreign companies to execute initiatives and building up local companies. T1 Energy is among the companies that have made an effort to become a pioneer and a leader as the U.S. is rapidly transitioning toward clean energy. It was recently unveiled that T1 Energy’s Dallas manufacturing facility earned the highest bankability rating for domestically produced solar modules.

T1 Energy gains a massive advantage in its charge to become a pioneer

T1 Energy is an energy solutions provider that has now developed a reputation for its ability to execute sophisticated projects. The company is building an integrated U.S. supply chain for advanced solar and battery manufacturing. Headquartered in Austin, Texas, the company’s rebrand in 2025 meant that it was stepping into a new chapter.

T1 Energy received a tremendous amount of attention in December 2024 following the transformative transaction it was involved in, which resulted in the company changing from FREYR to T1 Energy. The transformative transaction meant that it acquired the U.S. solar manufacturing assets of Trina Solar.

Because of the 2024 transaction, T1 Energy has now solidified itself as one of the leading solar energy-producing companies in the U.S with an effective battery storage strategy. As seen in the modern-day landscape, combining solar energy generation and storage services is advantageous and allows companies to overcome intermittency issues.

T1 Energy reaches a major milestone as it aims to expand projects across America and Europe

One of the biggest representations of a company’s overall success is being able to expand internationally and execute projects in a variety of places. T1 Energy unveiled to the public that its 5GW solar module facility, G1_Dallas, has received an “A” grade in an independent bankability assessment conducted by Intertek CEA.

There was an audit done on April 23 and 24 of 2026. It consisted of a detailed review of G1’s production capability, process control and quality management practices connected with module manufacturing.

A peer benchmark test was also done with the overall aim of determining which category the company is when compared to its competitors. The information uncovered revealed that T1’s modules are on a level playing field with Tier 1 competitors in terms of elements like efficiency, temperature coefficients, and mechanical dimensions.

Assessing the route followed by T1 Energy to become a leader in solar generation

Some companies have the benefit of perfect timing, which allows them to meet targets that their predecessors were unable to despite putting in a similar amount of effort. T1 Energy is now among the top solar module manufacturing facilities that have been audited globally by Intertek CEA.

The A grade awarded to the company is monumental, considering that it is only awarded to developers that show a consistent high standard in their production quality, process discipline, and operational reliability.

Looking ahead: How U.S.-based companies can learn from T1 Energy’s success

Industry experts believe that there is a massive amount of information that companies can learn from T1 Energy’s approach to energy generation. Dan Barcelo, who is the Chairman and CEO of T1 Energy, stated the following:

“Receiving an A grade from Intertek CEA is a meaningful independent confirmation of what our team has been building in Texas. We built G1_Dallas to produce modules that customers can rely on for decades to come. This rating reflects that commitment.”

One of the noteworthy facilities associated with T1 Energy is the G2_Austin solar cell fab in Rockdale, Texas, which is under construction. Phase 1 of the facility is expected to deliver 2.1 GW of annual capacity.
