Its main focus at the moment is reducing carbon intensity through renewable investments, including wind and solar projects.

A press release from Dairyland Power left many people in the energy industry disappointed after it revealed that the company has halted generation at its Flambeau Hydroelectric plant mainly because of the extremely low water levels and river flows caused by the current drought conditions across northern Wisconsin.

The general population usually only gets to reap the benefits of completed energy projects without being privy to the complexities and the unpredictable hurdles that arise before a project is officially completed. In this instance, current flows on the Flambeau River are an estimated 270 cubic feet per second (CFS), which is lower than the roughly 400 CFS required for safe generation.

The station is expected to remain offline until river flows improve and conditions permit safe operation. Now more than ever, the energy industry consists of deep expertise and scientific input that guides developers about the best way to execute a project and this component is evident in this project.

Additionally, fishers and boaters were asked to practice extra caution, go slow, and watch for potential hazards that could be deadly.
